SNO Leadership Program
August 7 - 10 with Pre-trip meeting July 28
Ages 16 and Over
The Second Nature Outdoors Leadership Program, is a 5 day program designed to build leadership skills through adventure based experiences in youth ages 16 and over. During this program participants will have fun and meet new people in an "unplugged environment. Participants will develop hard skills such as orienteering, how to light a fire, and other backcountry skills. Participants will also learn softer skills such as working with others, problem solving and goal setting and much more.
This year Second Nature Outdoors will be heading south, to the Bay of Fundy to hike the Fundy Footpath. This five day expedition is open to all aspiring adventurers! Participants taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Program will be happy to note that this trip qualifies for the Adventurous Journey Gold level. Please note however that a practice journey may be required for this trip to qualify for your award.
The trip leaders have extensive experience in wilderness safety, supporting participants young and old through personal and social challenges in a wilderness setting. You can be rest assured that your child will come back from this trip more resilient, with a greater connection to the wild and wonderful forests of New Brunswick, and an improved sense of self. Upon completion of this program participants will not only receive a certificate of completion but will also take away many skills and memories that will last a lifetime. In addition this program meets or exceeds the requirements set out by the Duke of Edinburgh award program.
